Karok Unleashed Update Preview

In 2015, Lann, Fiona and Evie all experienced a rebirth in power that bestowed upon them new attacks, new abilities, and more powerful techniques making them equals among their counterparts. Coming soon, in the first update of 2016, another warrior has emerged from his training, ready to bring about another round of mayhem in Vindictus. Take a sneak peek at some of the numerous changes coming as we unleash the primal fury of Karok!

Karok Unleashed: New Attacks, New Abilities, More Power

With this new update, Karok will see improvements regardless of what weapon he uses or how he lays into the enemy. With an overall improvement to his Attack Multiplier and a pair of new Passive abilities that occasionally let him shrug off damage or punch through the enemy's defenses, Karok will become an even more formidable opponent in the melee.

Along with Howl now being available to all Karok characters and additional ranks for Clash, Boss Bash and Grapple Mastery, even Karok's body is undergoing changes. Using the Appearance Alteration Coupon, you will be able to adjust the size of Karok's head and and his body's overall proportions. This will be available to all Karok characters, old and new.

Battle Pillar Changes

Karok's massive weapon is seeing its own share of improvements. Beyond an across-the-board boost to damage, SP gain and Stamina efficiency, Karok will also see additional ranks to several of his skills and a number of small tweaks to improve your ability to control the rampaging brawler. That's not to say it's only the old skills getting a boost...

With the Karok Unleashed update, there will be a total of seven new abilities for Karok to learn and use with the Battle Pillar! These include the Beast Stance Passive skill that improves a different stat depending on his most recent attack, as well as the Passive skills Bone Fracture and Boar Crush, the former creating an opening and the latter striking the fracture for massive damage.

But those both pale in comparison to possibly the most useful new ability: Grizzly Sprint. Activated with Tab by default, it sends a disarmed Karok careening towards his thrown Battle Pillar, retrieving it and battering aside nearly anything in his way.

Cestus Changes

Just like the Battle Pillar, the Karok Unleashed update will bring a straight-forward improvement to Cestus damage, SP gains and Stamina efficiency. While there's plenty of other improvements, such as additional ranks for fifteen Cestus abilities and improvements to existing attacks, the five new Cestus abilities are here to turn everyone's favorite brawler into a heavyweight boxer.

Karok will learn a new, Cestus-only Dodge ability: Weaving. By dodging at just the right time, attacks slide off like a passing thought and carry the warrior to safety, or further into the fray. The new Bobbing ability gives Karok a quick dash after Weaving and can be followed up with the new Brutal Flurry attack, which unleashes a series of blows that can last as long as Karok's stamina holds out.

This is only a glimpse of the changes coming to Karok. Nearly every ability is being touched up in one way or another, but don't worry if you need some time to get used to the changes: When the Karok Unleashed update arrives, every Karok will receive a free High-Capacity Skill Reset Capsule that can refund all the AP spent on a character's abilities.

Chat Window Improvements

Karok's changes aren't the only improvements coming. We've gone back to the drawing board with the Chat Window and turned out a new version, giving you better control of the window and improving its appearance and functionality, adding emoticons, private chat and more. It may not seem like the most important feature to focus on, but these improvements should make chatting with your friends and meeting up for battle even easier.

Season 2 Improvements

While Season 3 has been the big story for the last few months, it's high time for Season 2 to get a second look. With the Karok Unleashed update, Season 2 will be overhauled from an area for level 50-70 characters and will now cater to characters between levels 70 and 90, with improved rewards, increased difficulty and more. Characters below Level 70 will be unable to enter Season 2 missions, so get up there if you want to keep exploring the islands around Malina!

And More!

That's not all, of course. Snow will no longer fall, new items wil be available in the Supply Depot and elsewhere, a few new events will be be introduced and plenty of bug fixes will be implemented. Keep an eye out as we get closer to the Karok Unleashed update!
