1. Personal Training Site

Personal Training Site

  • Starting at Lv. 90, you can travel to the Personal Training Site by going to Depart (Shortcut Key: G) > Other Regions.
    • This solo area lets you measure your damage per second (DPS).
  • Proving Grounds
    • Test the DPS of different characters under the same conditions.
    • Any active item or status effects that were already active do not apply when you enter.
    • You can enter after equipping a secondary weapon.
    • You will have 120 seconds to test out your DPS.
    • Effects from certain artifacts and certain enchants do apply.
    • Your highest DPS per character will be saved for a certain amount of time.
    • You can toggle infinite stamina on and off
    • You will face an Honor Training Wood Man.
    • You can use the Proving Grounds mode-switching feature.
    • The Honor Training Wood Man is equipped with an axe.
    • You can set the Wood Man to either attack or stand still.
    • It costs no durability, fatigue, departure counts, etc. to travel here. There are also no rewards.
  • Free Grounds
    • Test your DPS using your current stats.
    • Equip your gear and items in town.
    • There are several configurable settings.
    • Set a time limit of 60, 90, or 120 seconds.
    • You can toggle infinite stamina and SP Gauge on and off.
    • You will face a Free Training Wood Man.
    • You can set the Wood Man to either attack with a greatsword/axe or stand still.
    • It costs no durability, fatigue, departure counts, etc. to travel here. There are also no rewards.

Developer Commentary

It seemed that it was difficult to check the approximate DPS of your own character, since there currently are many types of raid battles and each battle has different mechanics.
Thus, we created the Personal Training Site where you can check your DPS while adjusting your stats and conditions.
In the Proving Grounds, stats are equalized, and your highest DPS is saved on a per-character basis.
In the Free Grounds, you can check your DPS using the gear you actually have equipped.

2. Focus Mode

  • Focus Mode is a new feature that places your character in the center of the action.
    • When you zoom in beyond the max zoom-in limit, Focus Mode will activate.
  • Focus Mode places your character's body in the center of the screen. If you zoom in further, it will become a close-up on your character's face.
    • You can enable Focus Mode in combat under Menu (Shortcut Key: T) > Options > Beta Features.
    • Note that, in battle, you may wind up with slightly awkward camera angles.

3. Convenience improvements

Discard Item Updates

  • Made improvements to the Discard Item feature.
    • Added the Discard Item UI.
    • You can conveniently discard many items at once through the Discard Item UI.
    • You can use it through Menu (Shortcut Key: T) > Discard Item, or through the Discard Item button at the bottom of the screen.
    • You can select items to discard by right-clicking or dragging-and-dropping.
  • You can set a Discard Item shortcut key under Menu (Shortcut Key: T) > Options > Controls tab > Advanced Settings.

Friends Window Improvements

  • Made improvements to the Friends (Shortcut Key: O) UI.
    • You can now add up to 200 people to your whisper block list.

  • Shortcut keys have been changed to [Alt] + [W], [A], [S], or [D] in the friendship mission departure menu.
  • The Temporal Gauge shortcut key in Reverent Tower has been changed to [Alt] + [W].

4. Battle

Custom Battle

  • The new Custom Battle system allows for quicker departures.
    • Quick Battle has been renamed Quick Departure. Custom Battle can be found in the Quick Departure menu.
    • The Battle tab of Quick Departure has been renamed Quick Battle.
    • Departing under Quick Battle will continue to work exactly as it has before.
  • You can quickly depart for a one-off battle using Custom Battle.
  • Custom Battle allows you to set your own battle entry restrictions and a party name.
  • You can browse Custom Battle departures at the Dock or in the Depart (Shortcut Key: G) menu.
    • Custom Battles will feature a custom tag, making it easy to spot them.
    • You can also promote your Custom Battles.
    • Custom Battle promotions will display both the battle name and the party name.
    • Custom Battle promotions display a different color in the Promotion chat tab to differentiate them from other parties.
    • Added tags to the Join Party window that allow you to check the battle difficulty when joining via a promotion.
  • When you depart for a Custom Battle, you will receive the same effects as you would from a Regular Departure. You will not receive a Quick Battle bonus.

Developer Commentary

This new feature is for players who prefer regular departures over Quick Battle, but find the repetition to be a burden.

Other Battle Changes

  • Your damage-over-time against Agares in Grave of Madness will no longer cause you to suffer from Threat if you aren't moving.
  • Your damage-over-time against Callidus in Garden Guardian will no longer cause you to suffer from Deathly Target if you aren't moving.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from completing the Bonus Mission in Fight That Must Be Won.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the hit box for Ragnahim's snatch attack to be too large in Spearhead of Paradise Lost.
    • Ragnahim's hand will no longer grasp you if you were not in its attack direction.
  • Hurk can no longer use Deflection while under the effect of Stonewall against Ragnahim's follow-up attack in Spearhead of Paradise Lost.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some UI elements from disappearing when using Screenshot Mode in the Reverent Tower.

  • Fixed an abnormal phrase that displayed in party members' status effect icon tooltip in the party pane at the top-left of the screen.
  • If a story moves you to a location that is not in a town, you will no longer be able to open the Avatar menu (Avatar Shop, Outfitter Shop, and Wardrobe).

  • Fixed an issues that caused skills to sometimes not activate when using an effect that removes cooldowns (like Lynn's Active: Jade Fox) with an unstable network connection.

Developer Commentary

The above issue was introduced with the path that fixed some bugs with Karok's SP consumption. This issue could have potentially affected other characters, so we applied the fix to everyone, not just Karok.
However, this logic created problems when there were network delays. Since the issue couldn't be detected on a stable network, it took time to fix. We apologize to everyone who was inconvenienced by this issue.

  • Twin Swords Lann can now more reliably activate Gliding Fury after the second attack of Active: Radical Fever.

5. Other Changes

Character

[Common]

  • Fixed an issue that caused Path Transformation to consume extra SP if it ended at the same time that you use an SP-skill.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused skills to consume SP multiple times in certain situations.

  • Changed the condition to acquire the Braha Exterminator title from defeating Braha 100 times to completing the Braha battle 50 times.
    • If you have already defeated Braha over 50 times, you will get the title by completing Island Ruins once.

Path Transformation

  • Standardized the Transformation Points awarded for completing battles to 7 points.
    • The Abyssal Arena and the Reverent Tower award 1 point per floor.
  • Reduced the Transformation Points obtained upon leveling up from 100 points to 50 points.

Developer Commentary

With the previous patch, we were trying to adjust the ATT Limit and Transformation Points in the Abyssal Arena, which were two things that didn't quite match our intentions. The ATT Limit increase was applied, but changes to Transformation Points were delayed to this patch. Overall, our intention is to make it faster to complete, without flooding our players with Transformation Points. Also, regarding the standardized Transformation Points rewards: the reward used to be based on battle time, but both normal and raid battles are running shorter now, so we standardized them based on raid battle times.

Story

  • Changed the contents of the Episode Reward Box items, which are given when each episode ends in Season 3 Main Stream.
    • Previously, they contained items for crafting and enhancing composite items for around Lv. 90. These boxes will now mostly give items for accessory enhancement, which we believe will be more relevant for our players.
  • You will now also receive Episode Reward Boxes for completing the following episodes.

  • Fixed an strange message that displayed during the Fine Steel Set equipment story.
  • The quest giver for Saintess of Taratha (Season 4 Episode 3 Sub Story) has been changed from the guard in front of Rocheste Castle to the Battlemaster.
    • Since Saintess of Taratha is a sub story, you can continue the Main Stream without completing it.

Material Synthesis and Replacement Composite Story Adjustments

    • "Do You Want to Try Compositing?" was previously part of Season 3 Episode 1.

  • When you reach a point in the story that is related to one of the Redeemers battles and you haven't completed the battle, you will receive a message informing you about it and asking if you want to continue.
    • This is to help prevent players from unintentionally skipping Redeemers storylines.
  • Story Hints now mention that Tempering the Sword, a story related to Brigid, is not required by the main story.

      • Twin Swords, Twin Spears, Longsword, Long Hammer, Battle Pillar, Cestus, Bow, Cross Gun, and Twin Chainblades
      • Greatsword, Teide, Glaive, Battleshade, Bastard Sword, Dragonspine, Katamadhar, Battle Axe, Crest, and Swordstaff
    • The following weapons will get M. ATT from Material Synthesis.
      • Staff, Battle Scythe, Spellsword, Spellwhip, Phantom Dagger, and Mana Revolver
    • A warning will display when trying to perform Material Synthesis with an attack type that does not match the selected weapon and character.
Example: Displays a pop-up window when Lann performs Material Synthesis on a Staff to increase M. ATT.
  • Material Synthesis can now grant STR and INT to Lv. 90+ weapons and armor regardless of the current character's attack type.
    • Previously, characters who use ATT could only get STR and characters who use M. ATT could only get INT.
    • Now it can grant both STR and INT. A pop-up will appear if you attempt to increase a stat that is different from the current character's attack type. You may choose to cancel or proceed as you see fit.

Developer Commentary

ATT or M. ATT and STR or INT were displayed based on the current character when performing Material Synthesis previously. This caused issues in cases where, for example, a Lann performed Material Synthesis on a Staff and increased ATT or STR. The new method should decrease the odds of receiving undesirable results.

  • You will now get a pop-up if you press Receive All in Account Mail and there is a bound item among the attachments.
