(* All schedules are based on the Korean Service Schedule. Overseas Updates will follow regional timelines)
Hello, this is DEV Allanon, Director of Vindictus.
First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the concern caused by the KR Test Server Update Notice on April 9th.
The changes were implemented without sufficient explanation regarding their purpose and our future plans, which understandably caused confusion. We also deeply apologize for the delay in providing a follow-up announcement.
Today, we would like to share our development direction for the second half of the year — something many of you have been curious about.
Background for the Update Direction Change
A new raid is scheduled for release this July, alongside an expansion of the maximum level to 125.
In future updates, we plan to introduce four raids at regular three-month intervals: Each featuring new weapons, armor, and accessories.
This rather sudden level cap increase is based on two key objectives:
1. To establishing a consistent and predictable release cycle of new content.
2. To end the current growth structure where players feel weaker as they progress.
Content Release Cycle
Vindictus has previously expanded its maximum level cap in rather irregular intervals:
There were cases where it took 18 months, while in another case it only had took 14 months.
Likewise, the Space-Time Distortion battle, which has typically been introduced annually, has varied in its release period depending on how quickly players geared up after the increase in maximum level.
From future updates, we aim to follow a fixed release cycle as outlined below:
- July: First raid (Level Cap Increase)
- October: Second raid
- January: Third raid
- April: Fourth raid
- May: New Space-Time Distortion
With this schedule, players will be able to progress through each level bracket with a clear vision in mind, and reach the annual goal of entering the new Space-Time Distortion battle.
Each raid will follow the same reward structure as the current Uaithne Raid system, featuring tiered drops of:
- Weapon & Beginner Weapon, Helm, Totem
- Fine Weapon, Greaves, Earring
- Superior Weapon, Mail, Belt
- Rare Weapon & Legendary Weapon, Gauntlets, Boots, Ring1 & 2
Plans for future Space-Time Distortion battles
With Space-Time Distortion now positioned in May, as the concluding content of each level cycle, we believe everyone will be curious about our plans for this year.
We are currently preparing the release of a new difficulty of Space-Time Distortion: the Hell Mode, scheduled for November.
This newly introduced Hell Mode will apply to all three existing Space-Time Distortion raids, and we plan to add a special new phase to each boss.
This is still a feature under development, and we’ll share more details as development progresses.
Growth Structure Changes After Level Cap Expansion
When the level cap expansion, a full +12 Orna gear will be provided as growth rewards to help new and returning players start strong.
While the gear succession system helped address the issue of "getting weaker as you gear up," the transition from Ardri to Orna still caused a noticeable dip in player battle experience.
This issue has been affecting players’ growth in general, particularly for new players. By removing this hurdle, we hope to create a smoother and more satisfying progression experience.
We also understand that many players may be worried they may not have enough time to fully enhance their Uaithne gear before the Level 125 raid arrives.
To support players in this transition, we will host events before the July update that will make it easier to acquire Power Infusion Materials for gear enhancement.
Content Reward Changes
With the level cap expansion coming this July, we are also introducing a higher difficulty mode for Red Moon’s Energy Battle.
This mode will feature stat requirements and will allow players to earn Power-Infused Materials directly as boss loot items.
Additionally, the daily entry limit for Red Moon’s Energy Battle will be reduced from 2 to 1, with increased drop rates to compensate for the change. The entry limit will be shared across both normal and high-difficulty modes.
We will also increase drop rates for highly sought-after items for battles other than the Red Moon to provide more rewarding gameplay for users.
Also, we plan to bring back The Goddess’ Grace system to enhance the overall reward experience and support smoother player growth.
These updates were carefully considered to enhance both the enjoyment of character progression and the satisfaction of gameplay rewards.
However, we deeply regret that we did not provide adequate prior explanation before applying such significant changes to the test server.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion, and we thank you for your continued support and passion for Vindictus.
We will continue working hard to provide a diverse and exciting gameplay experience.
As always, please take care of your health as the seasons change.
Thank you.
