[Developer's Note] Notice Regarding the August Update

As we are in the midst of a hot summer, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all our players who continue to show their unwavering love and interest in Vindictus.

As mentioned in this month's Dev Talk, we will not be releasing a new character this summer.

I am truly sorry to deliver this disappointing news to the many who were waiting for a new character, and I ask for your generous understanding.

 

In this developer's note, I would like to provide details on the main contents of the August update,

including the previously mentioned improvements to the gear growth cost structure, enhancements to single-player support, and the introduction of the new "Eriu" gear.

The core direction of the August update is to adjust the cost structure required for gear growth and to lower some excessively high costs, thereby easing the burden of progression.

We have re-examined the overall design, including the growth costs for 'Orna' and 'Uaithne' gear, as well as the new 'Eriu' gear, and have tuned them to be more reasonably acceptable for our players.

 

Here are the details of the August update that you have been curious about.

 


1. Solo Battle Support

Through the August update, support for solo departures in raid battles will be fully expanded.

The following conditions will be applied so you can enjoy more content on your own:

  • All raid battles can now be entered in single difficulty, and the same entry requirements as Quick Battle will apply.
  • Guild Campfires, Core Boost, and Deific Devotion can be used and will apply the same as in normal difficulty.
  • The number of base Evil Cores obtained will be adjusted to 3 to reduce the gap with normal mode.
  • However, damage contribution, Quick Battle bonus cores, and Goddess's Grace will not apply.

Now you can play raids stably on your own and acquire the various rewards necessary for growth.

 

2. Level 110 Section Improvements

The Level 110 section has been restructured to help players grow smoothly to Level 115 and receive their Orna supply gear.

  • In this section, the existing Ardri battles will remain as raids: (Royal Castle Topaz Hall / Forgotten Altar / Dialectic of Death / Cavern of Enmity / Great Ministry).
  • Core Boost can be used in these battles.
  • As before, you can dismantle loot to obtain "Sealed Power: Fragments" and "Inherited Power: Fragments," which is expected to help secure the resources needed for gear growth and contribute to the in-game economy.
  • "Ardri Seals," obtainable from battles, can also be acquired from episode reward boxes and exchanged for the following items at the Seal Shop:
    • Rank 5 Enchant Selection Box
    • +1 Critical Element Stone / +1 Balance Element Stone
    • New Era Material Box / 1000 AP Capsule / Seal of Bravery, etc.

 

3. Level 115 Section Improvements

Players who reach Level 115 will immediately receive a +12 enhanced supply gear set with Rank 6 enchants and base stats improved by 50% of the previous tuning stats. From there, the section is designed as a hands-on growth phase where players will grow their gear by experiencing various content step-by-step.

  • Totems, Accessories, and Artifacts can be farmed from Orna raid battles.
  • The repetitive burden of enhancement has been eased by increasing item drop rates, raising weapon enhancement success probability, and applying a guaranteed success after a maximum of 5 failures.
  • Orna Seals can be obtained from Weekly and Monthly Missions, and can be exchanged for the following items at the shop:
    • Weapon/Armor Essence
    • Succession Ore
    • Superior Enhancement Elixir

Furthermore, special events to support faster gear growth will be held in August.

  • In the Level-Up event, you can obtain a +13 Restorative Enhancement Rune.
  • Through the Golden Time event, you will have a chance to obtain gear from +13 up to +15. The +15 gear can also be obtained in a tradeable form, so we highly recommend participating during the event period.

 

4. Level 120 Section & Uaithne Gear Improvements

In battles after Level 120, the method of upgrading Orna gear to obtain Uaithne gear will be maintained.

In the revamped Special Battles, you can now also obtain completed Uaithne gear as loot.

Uaithne gear obtained from Special Battles can be traded once, and the entry requirement for the new Special Battles will be set to the level of the new Lucian raid battle.

[Battle Balance & Content Structure Changes]

  • The entry requirement for the new Royal Army Battle will be changed to match requirements needed for "The One Who Protects the Altar" battle.
  • The Red Moon's Energy region battles will be subdivided and adjusted as follows:
    • Red Moon's Energy (Normal Difficulty)
      • Entry Requirement: Equivalent to "The Winds of Lochlann"
      • Departures: Changed from 2 → 1
      • Boss Base Cores: Increased from 6 → 10
    • Red Moon's Energy (Hero Difficulty)
      • Entry Requirement: Equivalent to "The One Who Protects the Altar"
      • Departures: 1
      • Boss Base Cores: 14
      • Clear Gold: Same as Normal difficulty
      • Main Rewards: Enhanced materials, materials for crafting Superior Element Stones.
