Topics We Didn't Get to During the Broadcast

Breakoff System

There's an active discussion inside the dev team over the current breakoff system and how it should be improved. We want to avoid making every character having a univeral breakoff as a base trait. Some of the team feel that it should stay as a defining feature of specific characters that shape their distinctiveness, while others suggested options such as adding more tools that support breakoff more broadly.

What we've currently agreed on is that we don't want to simply solve this with a separate off-hand style item. Currently nothing is finalized, and we're open to any specific frustration points or ideas over this issue.

Improvements to Battle Departure & Completion scenes

The departure and completion scenes have been around for a long period of time, and we believe they've already become part of what makes Vindictus feel like Vindictus. We want to modernize them without losing that key identity. We hoped that we could present this within this year, but the R&D on what the new presentation requires is taking longer than expected.

We still hope to deliver this during 2027, and we'll share more details once our update roadmap for next year is finalized.

Potion Usability Improvements

We hear you on wanting potions to feel more impactful so combat encounters feel less punishing. As in raids, that role is already filled by Merc potions, we're reading this feedback as mostly about Space Time Distortion.

Rather than simply making potions stronger, we're positioning our direction to improving the combat experience itself. The tension end-game content creates is part of what makes Vindictus combat compelling, and we want to preserve that while still addressing the difficulty spike.

Survival Utility Improvements

We'll review this together with the currently scheduled character utility improvements planned for September through December.

Chat Window Overhaul

We'd hoped to get to this this year, but it's been deprioritized due to other issues.

We've identified a lot of legacy code in the chat window, and we believe reworking it should also help with server lag. We're looking at improved readability, emoji support, timestamps, and other modern chat features, but realistically this won't land this year. We're planning to deliver by 2027.

As there are a lot of updates we've already promised and more were added to the list with our last livestream, there are concerns whether this will all be available during the time window.

However, as we recognize this is a key area of frustration from our players, we will do our best to deliver them in time. If by any reason we have to delay the schedule, we will share them transparently through another Dev note.

Test Server Feedback

We'd like to thank you for all the feedback on our updates previed in the KR test server.

We're adding some firsthand improvements to Lumielle's combat today, and if more adjustments are needed, we'll continue updating the KR test server based on your feedback. We also saw a lot of comments about her appearance, especially her face. We're working through that feedback along with our own internal notes, but this may take more time, so those changes will land with the Official KR Server update.

We'll make sure the official release is one more of you can be happy with.

Thank you, as always, for continued support to Vindictus.

Thank you.
