[Developer's Note] Planned Roadmap Update

Hello, this is DEV Allanon.

With the hot weather continuing day after day, I hope you're all taking good care of your health.

Through our recenent Summer Live Broadcast a few weeks back, we've made a number of promises for the future of Vindictus. Today, I'd like to walk you through the development status of what's planned ahead.

This developer's note will mainly cover two aspects: The details on Outfit Dismantling, which is planned as a centerpiece for our September update, and confirming the update schedules for what we've previously mentioned without a fixed date.

(Please be noted that the dates mentioned in this developer's note covers Global schedules by converting dates from the KR server update. Detailed schedules may vary.)

The Outfit Dismantling System

We believe many of you probably have unused Outfits that have been piling up in your character inventory for a long time. With this update, we're adding an Outfit Dismantling system so you can find a different use for them, and make some more space.

■ Purpose

The goal is to help you organize unnecessary Outfit items in your Storage Chest for more efficient management, and in the process, we also expect it to help improve server lag. The benefit should be especially noticeable for players who own a large number of Outfits.

■ Outfits eligible for Dismantling and Conditions

You can dismantle Outfits for the Head, Top, Bottom, Hands, Shoes, as well as Back/Wings and Tail items. Items such as weapons, secondary weapons, equipment, weapon Outfits (Brandish), etc. are excluded from dismantling.

Dismantling is also restricted in the following cases:

  • Items specifically set as non-dismantlable (Worth noting that there are no such outfits at the moment.)
  • Time-limited items or items with a usage period
  • Items with a level restriction
  • Items currently equipped or locked

Original Outfits that you obtained normally and Cloned Outfits obtained through the Clone feature must be registered separately. To keep the two types from being mixed together by accident, we've prepared on-screen guidance so you can register only one type at a time.

■ Rewards and Wardrobe Point Policy

What we cared about most with this system was making sure that dismantling never feels like a loss.

When dismantling an original Outfit

  • You can obtain an item called Outfit Fragments based on the Outfit's grade.
  • The higher the grade of the dismantled item, the more Outfit Fragments you receive.
  • Outfit Fragments can be used in the Exchange Shop.

When dismantling a Cloned Outfit

  • Unlike dismantling original outfits, you'll receive a set number of Cloned Outfit Fragments regardless of grade.
    • This is to prevent any possible side affects, such as being penalized for having used the Clone feature to copy the appearance you wanted.
  • The item you receive differs depending on whether the dismantled clone was an Outfit, a Back/Wings item, or a Tail item.
    • You'll obtain the corresponding Cloned Outfit Fragment (Outfit / Back/Wings / Tail), which you can right-click to create a Clone Outfit Crafting Box.
  • Cloned Outfit Fragments cannot be used in the Exchange Shop.

Common

  • If your Storage Chest is full and you're unable to receive the fragments, it will be sent to your Mailbox automatically.
  • The Wardrobe Points held by a dismantled Outfit are fully preserved. There is no penalty that reduces your Wardrobe Points when you dismantle.

■ Safeguards

We've also put safeguards in place to prevent accidental mistakes. When you try to dismantle a high-value Outfit, such as a Legendary or Rare grade item, you'll need to type a separate confirmation phrase before it can proceed. It's a minimal safeguard to make sure you don't lose a precious Outfit by accident.

■ Exchange Shop

The Outfit Fragment coupons you earn from dismantling can be used in the Exchange Shop, where they'll appear as Outfit selection boxes or set boxes. The number of coupons required is the same regardless of how many parts make up an Outfit, so the exchange conditions stay clear no matter which set you choose.

Please note that Outfits newly obtained through the Exchange Shop do not grant Wardrobe Points. We'll spell this out clearly in the box descriptions as well, so please keep it in mind.

Confirmed Timing for Previously Undated Items

Do you remember the items we previously listed as "Planned for second half of 2026" in our previous Developer's Note? As we reorganized our overall development schedule, we've confirmed specific timing for them, as shown below.

(A quick note, the English terminology for future updates are not yet finalized. Some of the feature and boss names shown here are provisional and may change before release. Please also be noted that while the schedule below represents the Global update, they have been converted from the KR schedule and is not final. Detailed schedules may vary.)

September

  • Outfit Dismantling system

October

  • Complete Storage Chest overhaul
  • Character utility improvements
  • Addition of Fusion extraction items
  • Friend list managed per account (Cairde)
  • AP Transfer between characters within the same account

November

  • New raid - Morphessa
  • Character utility improvements
  • Additional acquisition routes for item growth materials
  • Consolidation of some Seals and a Seal Shop reward revamp

December

  • Space Time Distortion - Garvan
  • Item trade attribute overhaul
  • Bound Gold system
  • Character utility improvements
  • Simplified in-combat cutscenes and removal of certain patterns for Redeemers and select raids

January 2027

  • Expertise and Display Stand overhaul
  • Character utility improvements

February

  • New character ???
  • Character Name Trading event
  • Cairde Name Trading event

March

  • Raid battle update
  • Max level expansion
  • New item growth system
  • Consolidation of the old combat system

Among these, the Character Name Trading event planned for February 2027 will be expanded to include a Cairde Name Trading as well. However, after thorough review we've decided not to include an option to trade names using Airgead. Gold-to-Airgead trading is already available through the Gold Trading Post, and we felt that building an additional feature on top of that could actually make things more complicated to use. We appreciate your understanding.

Detailed schedules may still shift depending on how development progresses, and if anything changes, we'll let you know.

Unfortunately, the feature that would let characters equip boss weapons still hasn't finished schedule coordination, so we're unable to share an exact date this time either. The same is true for the Breakoff balance review and the Potion Usability improvements, which are still under discussion within the dev team. We'll settle on a direction as soon as we can and share it with you.

Follow-Ups from Past Developer's Notes

Before I wrap up, I'd like to share some additional follow-up news.

Back in our April Developer's Note, we mentioned that we were looking into ways to improve the high risk of Staff Evie's Active: Rage Conductor skill and the negative impact it could have on party members. After some discussion, we settled on an approach that adjusts the amount of Aggro generated when the skill is used. This will be applied to the Global Live server with our next August update. Thank you for your patience during the wait.

We'll continue to keep the promises we've made, one at a time. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Vindictus.

Thank you.
